Change your situation.

-New environment
-New hobbies
-New friends.

Spend time with the kind of people you want to be like, don’t spend time with anyone who is an enabler or participant in those things you no longer do. If you want to be friends with them still, you can do that later, AFTER you are recovered. not before. Even recovery groups can be a bad idea because they are always talking about the things you are trying to get past. Find people who inspire you, and be with them! Move to another city or neighborhood or country and all this becomes much much easier! Get new hobbies, find things that you feel passionate about to put your energy and time into. If you start thinking about the old things, just distract your brain with something you enjoy! this retrains your brain to stop focussing on those things. If you fill your life with new and good, there will just be no more room for old and bad, it will phase out. 🙂
