Question by Amber: Social services in Ottawa – LF employment and general info?
I live in a small town right outside of Ottawa (Rideau township area) and am wondering where I could find information on group homes and such in my area to apply for jobs (Im a student taking social service work). Any information on good online employment sites for social services would be handy as well.
Also: What would you like to see change regarding social services in Ottawa? What do you think are the cities biggest problems (homelessness, addiction, social housing wait lists, etc)

Answer by Karen C I would like to see Social Services and O.D.S.P. and the Province generally stop enabling drug addicts. They provide them homes, needles, pipes, and money that is spent on drugs. Those homes are often in Ottawa Housing where they steal from and terrify the non addict tenants. The needles and pipes are left lying around for others to pick up or puncture themselves with. It is a disgrace. I have nothing against helping people who want to help themselves but the majority of these drug addicts just want the City and Province to keep playing the role of ” the Mark’ to their role of “con artist”.
