Parents: If You Needed Help Kicking a Drug Addiction, Would You Know Where to Go for Free Help?

Question by G8RMommy: Parents: If you needed help kicking a drug addiction, would you know where to go for free help?
If the state offered you help, like AA/NA/WA meeting schedules, sponsor support (a person to talk to), and reading materials, would you take advantage of that, or would you expect the state to pay for inpatient treatment. Do you think inpatient treatment is the only way off drugs?

Just curious.

Never having had a drug habit, I don’t know. I’d like to say take advantage of the free programs, but sometimes they don’t work. Sometimes an addict needs the structured and predictable environment of an inpatient program and safe detox.
