My Brother Is a Drug Addict.?

Question by Ella08: My brother is a drug addict.?
My brother has been on heroin for a good 2 years now (injecting) and his girlfriend has just had a baby boy. His girlfriend is not a drug user and does not want anything to do with my brother untill he gets off drugs which is understandable. I do not get along with my brother at all because of the years of abuse he put me through and the things he has stolen (I am 14). My mother constantanly ignore his drug using in the house and when I say that I have seen him and what not she shouyts at me and uses the excuse that it is her son. I love my mum to pieces but the way things are going I cannot bear to be in the same house as someone so abusive. What should I do? Thanks,

Do you have a relative that you can stay with?

You need to stay as busy as possible, so that
you are not exposed to him or his drug problem.

Your mom is scared for your brother, but not enough
to get him help.

His drug problem is only going to get worse, unless
she gets him help.

You are not in a position to do anything for him, so do
your best to keep your distance.

Participate in after-school programs, stay with relatives,
and let your mom deal with him.

She will eventually have to do something one way or
another.

Best wishes
