Ok here is my situation.I am a 17 year old living in huntington wv. Since the school year has began i have missed probably 60-70 days of school. now i do have some good excuses as to why i have missed so much school. My dad went out of town about 4 years ago to work.My mother went into a massive depression when he left and we all developed mental problems.Along with my mothers depression she found out she was bi-polar and developed a drug problem.He drug of choice was Loritabs, nerve pills and muscle relaxers. But all of her medications where prescribed to her. But all the time they were treating her for depression they really needed to be treating her bi-polar, but i digress. But during last summer she had a bad fall down our stairs and she developed 2 herniadied discs and 3 bulging. Along with her drug problem and her back and legs going out from the nerve damage i felt i couldnt leave her alone i was afraid she would fall and crack her skull or overdose on her pills. So i have missed so much school this year and not by choice, some days she would ask me to stay home cause she simply could not get out of bed. But just a couple of weeks ago my dad finally got transfered back here and she got rehab help and is off of her medication and well. but he had to leave again for 4 weeks and she relapsed so i have missed 10 days straight do to that but now she got back on track again thank god…but i have trauncy court tommorow and have never been. i have no idea what to tell them for my reason of absence. I am not looking for pitty or any other type of attention. i would just like to know what to say to them and see if anyone else has had a similar experience where their sick parent has kept them from going to school.

go to college.. they dont’ care if you miss days..
